About Lori

“It is by going down to the abyss that we recover the treasures of life. Where you stumble, there lies your treasure.” —Joseph Campbell

The heart of my work lies in helping people increase their ability to develop insight about themselves and the challenging situations they face by strengthening awareness in their bodies. It is from this visceral vantage point that they are able to “see” themselves clearly, becoming more trusting of their internal experience; making decisions that are reflective of who they really are.

In my work as an Equus Coach, I partner with horses to create a safe and open environment for clients to gain a deeper understanding of how their thoughts and emotions impact the energy they bring to their relationships, careers, and other life situations. In the round pen, they discover which behaviors do and do not serve them, which opens the door to playful exploration of what it means to live from a place of true leadership and authenticity.

I am a Board Certified Coach and a Master Equus Facilitator. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of San Diego and a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Washington, where I spent time abroad working on an archaeological site in Italy. My continuing education includes certifications from the Koelle Institute for Equus Coaching, the National Board of Certified Counselors, CPP (for the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator), Anamsong (for Mind Body Coaching) and the Avalon Art and Yoga Center.
